Marc Fortin is President and CEO of the RQRA and has over 30 years’ management experience with food companies, consulting firms and associations

He was a principal shareholder of StratMk consultation before becoming President and CEO of the NACDA, then President and CEO of Distribution Canada Inc (DCI), a national buying group for the food retail industry in Canada, and President of the Retail Council of Canada - Quebec (RCC). 

He has also held several executive positions with companies such as Molson Breweries, Kellogg’s Canada, Maple Leaf Foods, Canada Bread Bakeries and Borden-Catelli.

He also holds a bachelor’s degree in marketing and economics from the Université de Montréal. Marc Fortin is an outstanding leader, both dynamic and human. Combining strength with gentleness, he knows how to motivate his teams and push them to give their best. 

Passionate about social issues from a young age, Hans has dedicated the past twenty-five years to advocating for causes he believes are just—first in the restaurant sector for a decade, and then in housing. He served for fifteen years as spokesperson and Director of Public Affairs for the Québec Landlords Association (CORPIQ).

After a brief stint in the municipal world, he chose to return to the nonprofit sector and joined the RQRA in February 2023. He holds a bachelor’s degree in communication and journalism. He has built a strong reputation based on his commitment to credible information and his in-depth knowledge of the issues he handles.

His sensitivity to the many challenges facing seniors’ residences and their residents goes back over 30 years, as a close family member owns and operates a senior living facility.
