The Voice that Elevates Senior Living across Canada

In April 2024, the Regroupement québécois des résidences pour aînés (RQRA) joined forces with its counterparts in three other Canadian provinces to form the Canadian Senior Living Association (CSLA).

The Association is formed by the following associations:

  • Ontario Retirement Communities Association (ORCA)
  • Alberta Seniors and Community Housing Association (ASCHA)
  • BC Care Providers Association et sa branche opérationnelle, EngAgeBC
  • Regroupement québécois des résidences pour aînés (RQRA)

The mission of this alliance is to highlight the issues that seniors' residences face in Canada. The CSLA will work alongside the federal government, government departments, Crown corporations and all other relevant parties to introduce measures favorable to seniors' housing and their commitment to providing a safe, quality living environment for seniors.

 Four Key Priorities

The four provincial associations have jointly identified their four areas of commitment:

  • Reaffirming the role of seniors' residences in the continuum of housing, care and support services for seniors
  • Advocate tax policies that address the affordability of seniors' residences
  • Contribute to federal immigration strategies to facilitate access to the workforce
  • Advocate for federal policies that facilitate and mitigate barriers to investment in seniors' residences
